Inspired by the launch of the original Triumph Thunderbird. The bike was demonstrated at the Montlhery racetrack near Paris on 20th Sept 1949. Three bikes were ridden straight from the production line to the track via the ferry, covering 500 miles at an average speed of 90mph.
